nabonidus,

We all do need a rest every once in a while from our creativity. You don't want the well to dry up. I play video games when "the block" hits me. :p

*raises hand* I have to confess to playing computer games when "the block" hits me - or when just looking for an excuse for being lazy. Like those annoyingly addictive things at www.freearcade.com :)

ROFL just read your post over on Maria's....anal probing alien abduct! oh Girl you got points with me for that comment! Sorry takes very little these days to make me laugh. I think all the stress of starting a new business has caught up with me and my husband!

Hey you can come pound ANY Of my In-Laws for not watching their kids...yes it gets amusing, but after the 17th time it just starts to get annoying. Oh and let me mention that their manners suck too! How my husband came out all class and they did not boggles both me and their parents! Some apples fall FAR from the tree, I do attest! You are MOST WELCOME any time! I should charge tickets! lol....ok that was rude, but some silly show it would generate! hehehe

You ARE getting better too! I just notice those types of things! Anne-Marie would know. I think we are trained to look for those things, and being a Ballet teacher I am also more aware of coordination with body parts, including the hands. WAY TO GO!! Keep it up!

Smile!

LOVE T-Rex! You should practice that, if you nailed it, you'd have me crying. Not that you probably want to make Ticharu cry, but I was like, no no no, finish it! I love that song.

Lisa,
I believe there's a different creativity at work in interpreting the work of someone else that also allows the other part of your brain to rest so that it can be original at a later date. It's also good to practise using someone else's work just to move your fingers in a different way or rythm. I used to write songs about twenty years ago, and goofing at the piano trying to play songs I knew was a good way to relax and often to draw inspiration.

Cheers,
AM

Thanks Molly and EL, made me laugh when I woke up this morning and read this!:)
And Ticharu, I think I will work on this one, wasn't sure if anyone would like it or not! I'm glad you did!
Anne-Marie,
This is very interesting, and you reminded me that I use one song to warm my fingers up, and it's a cover.
Thanks! xoxoxoLisa

How cool, Simon Townshend just visited my blog.

Hope you are doing well and looking forward to New Years Eve. Fire up the amplifier, and play some guitar, that's what I'm planning on doing. We'll probably end up asleep by 10pm as usual, a couple of old poops.

T-Rex! I loved Electric Warrior years ago. Just got it on CD a few weeks back - spooky! I think T-Rex is a good cover match for you. There is a quality to your voices that feel similar to me in a female counterpoint sort of way. If that makes sense? How bout given a go at Lean Woman Blues!
