Pretty close, actually. Not bad. I agree with Andy, your voice is much more confident in this one. Try adding some stylistic techniques now. Scoops, growls, whatever... There are a whole bunch of them available, but remember it's for accenting musical phrasing, so you have to be quite careful with how you use it. A little can be very effective, whereas too much would bulldoze a musical line flat.
That song makes sense in your hands. It seems like you're just using the guitar to find your notes, kinda like Nico with a keyboard. Not like the way I attack the guitar. You just strum the chord and let the vocal flow. You are finding your muse.
Another one of my faves. Have you thought about fiddling with that Korg 4 track? putting the guitar down onto a track, then singing over it? You have a really nice voice, get the guitar part out of the way, so you can free yourself to sing. I'd love to see you put your originals on IAC.
Hi Lisa, Thanks for popping over to my blog and being so sweet and kind. Good that you're not worrying about the weight thingie- it will go up and down, and slow and fast, but it will eventually get you in the place you want to be. This is why I am relaxed about it now- the first few weeks of adjusting are the hardest. Cormier and Zindel are like the Pete Townshends of the teen lit universe. They weren't afraid to show brutal behaviour, and I especially love The Chocolate War for showing teachers at their worst. I loved your story about the jogging suit lady and I think you are very insightful- sometimes you need life to slap you around hard to realise how much happiness can follow. It certainly worked for my dad, as he was the happiest, most grateful man I ever knew. I try really hard to emulate him and make him proud, because I have never known the horrors he encountered. It sure puts things in perspective, doesn't it?
Oh, and yeah, I think your voice is really awesome on the Floyd track. As so many have said. Cheers, AM
I was noticing you noticing about Mr. Charlton Heston. I had the joy to watch him perform in a play in Los Angeles. It was called "The Crucible". It was in 1972 or '73.
That was a very interesting experience.
Just thought I'd tell you.
Oh, and on sports and hands... I throw right, bat left. Why bat left when I am right handed? My Dad wanted me to grow up a step closer to first base, so I am told.
Lisa, I just read your post. You are a kind soul. I will not forget what you said about your Dad. I don't know I will fare as well. There are some really good people let in this world,You are one.Danny
Aw, thanks you guys! You all are the ones giving me confidence! I don't even know where to start AFA trying to reply - I think I'd be better off visiting you all's blogs :) xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
I spent some time pissing about on the internet the other day and have added about 10 more bands to my radio station. There is one from Sussex I'd like you to listen to as far as vocal stylings are concerned, "The Love Gods". Let me know what you think.

That was very kind of you to connect with me on my blog. Yes, my wife is most beautiful (though we have since grown older together!). We now have so many faults...most of which SHE puts up with me. Our days are still young, but diabetes (her) and ailments (me) mount.
She is forever always, my bride.
The Yaqui are deeply involved people. Did you know they rejected the Mexican government? Did you know they are the only tribe to embrace the Jesuits? What a choice for a native group! They are also most famous (contemporarily) for the stories of Carlos Casteneda. I think little of him and his writing, but many see him as the "Yaqui" spokesman or something.
If you check him out, you may like it. It is probably entertaining. I do not embrace it as truth, however, as some do.
I LOVE San Diego. My Dad was stationed there many, many, many years ago, before me was born.
I have visited there several times. We love Anthony's (EXPENSIVE restaurant), the Star of India, the zoo, Point Loma, etc.

Your voice is very smooth and confident on this one.

Wrong chords? Well, sounds very very nice anyway! Agreeing with Andy and Jack regarding the vocals.
oh my dear, your singing adds so much meaning to the lyrics. You are confident here. Genuine. Great voice!
I get to go home. It's five o'clock!
