3 Pounds Already! Wow! :D

It was more of a lark, stepping on the scale just now. I just woke a few minutes ago.
I'd forgotten to weigh myself the other day, when I began the dieting. Was feeling better about stepping on the scale this morning, simply because I know I really have been dieting and trying my best. Figured it would be the same weight as the other day, that it was too soon to have lost any. But 3 pounds already! Surely some of that had to be water weight gain or something(though I didn't take any diuretics or anything). That was fast! I was hoping for the 3 pound loss at the end of the week, not 2-3 days into it! Wow!
Well this was a nice wake up, I can tell you!I hope the rest of the day is this way, and I hope everyone else has a good day, too. :)

Nabonidus,

Don't place too much emphasis on the number on the scale. Remember, if you are exercising regularly you are going to build muscle mass, which is heavy. Most likely your weight will drop and then increase again. Don't get discouraged when this happens, because it's a good sign. Judge by how you feel and how you think you look. :)

Still cheering you on!

Probably it was water. It's fortunate to be able to gain and lose that type of weight. And Jack is right about the loss of weight to gain muscle mass. I think I am heavier but I am fitter than I have ever been (from exercise). I do the touch check. I poke my finger into my side to see how tough it feels. Dense, I suppose; I'm feeling for density. Probably, I should poke my temple.

PS: woo-whoo to a great start!

You do what works for you. Just don't put your health in danger. Good nutrition, lots of water, and some brisk walks work for me.

if there were money involved.

me around on the beach. How are the
ghosts?Just give them your portions

Keep it up.

I've been eating 5 small meals a day since the beginning of the week, eat every 2.5 hrs and feel great. Cooked up lots of chicken breast on Sunday and have tuna with crisp breads at work. I don't weigh myself, but my check has typically been my wedding ring. If it is nice and loose, I know I have trimmed down, that and the belt buckle. I'm stocky. All of those years of loading and unloading containers of antiques gave me very muscular shoulders and legs, although, I gain it on the belly, and this is one of the hardest places to lose it. Too bad we can't be like those tribes you see on discovery channel huh? let it all hang out and be judged on our ability to hunt, not necessarily look good.

Good job, Lisa! I dropped 4.5 pounds since Saturday, which I know is just water/shock to my system, but a quick start is encouraging. Keep it up, hon, you're on your way!

Cheers,
