Favorite Albums...

I posted a list of my favorite albums but accidentally deleted it when I went to make some minor additions. I kept remembering after the fact, albums that I'd wanted to add to the list. What are your favorite albums? I think that I share a lot of the same favorite albums with people.Chances are.But
I don't even know where to start, now that I deleted the original list..

The Yes Album, Close To The edge, Fragile, Tales Of Topographic Oceans -Yes
Quadrophenia, Tommy- The Who
Presence, Physical Graffiti- Led Zeppelin
Ten, Vitalogy - Pearl Jam
Abraxas, Caravanserai- Santana
Frampton Comes Alive
La Sexorcisto Devil Music vol.1 White Zombie
Debut Bjork
Vulgar Display or Power Pantera
Ladies of the Canyon, Blue, Court and Spark- Joni Mitchell
Songs from the Wood -Jethro Tull
Pretenders 1st Album
The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars -David Bowie
Blood Sugar Sex Magick ( Once for a brief, shining split-second, Chili Peppers were great-this was the album)
Cream ( I like all the Creams)
Blind Faith ( same)
Dark Side of the Moon
In the Court of The Crimson King -King Crimson
Wired,Blow by Blow-Jeff Beck
War ( the best of, with Nappy Head and Lowrider, Slippin' into Darkness, Spill the Wine)
Let it Bleed, Beggars Banquet, Sticky Fingers-Rolling Stones
Night At the Opera, News Of The World- Queen
Shut Up and Play Yer Guitar-Frank Zappa
Surrealistic Pillow-Jefferson Airplane
Adrenaline-Deftones
Undertow, Aenima-Tool
Porno for Pyros 1st album

Shit, there are sooo many albums to think of. I'm forgetting 50,000. But that's where I start wondering about people's favorites. I'm sure I'm forgetting the most obvious choices. I think I'm going to post this but reserve the right to add more albums as I think of them, or if you post any good ones. :)

Nice list, Lisa.

I'd add:

A Night at the Opera- Queen
Foxtrot, Selling England by the Pound- Genesis
Crime of the Century- Supertramp
Legend- Bob Marley
Rubber Soul-Beatles

I'm sure I could add a slew of them too, but that's just off the top of my head. I have a record collection of over 300 LPs, never mind the CDs. I could rattle off some records for days.

Cheers,
AM

Hey EL, you reminded me of the Stones, jeez. I forgot. I think feel the exact same way as you about the earlier vs later Stones stuff.
Hi Anne Marie, you've reminded me of
Queen, of course! Good choices yourself!
News of the world, you just reminded me! Thanks! I need to add that! Isn't that what it's called?
'With Get down make love" and "We will rock you?" Yep. :)

Wow, Gary, Sue! GREAT CHOICES!!!
I'm going to have to add a couple of yours to mine! :) More David Bowie, Zeppelin, Smiths, etc.
Don't even know where to start.
You really get to know about a person by their albums. Such as:
Gary: Joy Division, Songs in the Key of Life ( f*cking amazing album)
Sue:Alice Cooper and Slade
Most excellent!
This is great, you guys. :)

I am so happy to see them listed anywhere.

I love Quadrophenia, Who's Next, the Numbers album, most everything by the Who.

Santana is positively cool.

And Hynde, jeepers.

Great list, yes, hands down.

First time I've commented being today was the first time I looked into your sites. I found you through Jack & her Jazzblog. She's quite an interesting character so it doesn't surprise me in the least that you are too.
What sucks is that I'm at work so I can only see your music, not hear it. No speakers!

What I came here to say is that you have mighty fine taste in music.

Here's a couple of the greatest albums of all time:

-The Wild The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle - Springsteen
-Chicago VII
-Duty Now For The Future - Devo
-Ice Water - Leo Kottke

I have over 1000 LP's now. Woohoo!
Keep rockin' Lisa!

Jeff

Hi Lisa!

Thanks for the comment on the CD list on my music blog! lol - I hear ya... I keep thinking of other ones that have blown my mind but I agree the ones' you've mentioned are some unforgettable ones! :-) ....

Nevermind
Dirt
Appetite for destruction
CORE
Achtung Baby
Boy

All of them except boy were heavily listened to when I lived in the city of angels! How is So. CA these days? Do you ever go into L.A.? I don't miss the crime or smog! But sometimes I do miss El Coyote, Canters at 1:00am :-), Venice beach, Sanat Monica, PCH and select parts of Hollywood!

That's such a coincidence! I lived there at the same time, too! We may have passed each other on the roads, each listening to say, Nevermind or Blood SugarSex Magick.
I actually kinda miss LA, at least parts of it. My bro still lives up in Hollywood. Claims to hate it but I dunno.
It's sooo damned crowded here in San Diego, it almost seems less crowded up there, and that's saying something! At least, it seems like there are more places up there where you can get away from people. But that's just my opinion, I'm sure.
I don't miss that smog though. Crime wise it's just as bad, if not worse,
here!
And I really need to do a revised album list, with a lot of everyone's faves ( that are my faves too) added - I knew that was going to happen! lol
Thanks for coming back and visiting again!:) xoxoLisa

Unreservedly love the whole album ?
Van Der Graaf Generator:FirstGeneration (a compilation),PawnHearts. No guitar just screaming twin Sax and hammond organ with the greatest surreal lyrics.
Zoso:Listen to the buddha. Pretty zen bells and lilting vocals.
AlexHarvey/SAHB:Framed.Next.
Pink Floyd:Meddle,Dark,Wish,Relics.
Meddle has THE finest acoustic songs.
Stones:SatanicMajesty.
Bjork:Debut (and sugarcubes album).
The Who & Pete tops of course:
Tommy,Quad,Next,Live,Meaty,Numbers,First,Empty,Chinese,Scoops,SellOut,30yrs.
