Bad Mood Lately...

I admit it, I've been in a kind of bad mood lately. Various reasons...That's why I haven't been making clips though I haven't been lacking for desire to play. I'm more critical of myself than anyone, so I've just been trying to avoid anything that will just make me feel worse. I already feel bad enough without thinking that I suck musically and feeling frustrated with that, too. So this is why I have been not going anywhere in blogland, and not jamming or making music. Just trying to take my mind off of my life in general.I've even been backsliding a little on the dieting. Sorry everyone, if I've been a crappy blogger lately. Just not at my best but I am trying to pull out of it, I swear. Things overall could be looking up.I hope so!

That's ok Sweetie. We all get feeling kind of down sometimes. We'll still be here when you are feeling better. And you know what? We are still here even when you are feeling yucky. You just can't get rid of us that easy! : ) You don't have to be the life of the party for us to like you. We'll take the whole Lisa, not just the one who is in a good mood.
Smiles and hugs your way.

Lisa,
Sorry you're feeling so poorly. Don't worry, we'll see you around when you're up to it. In the meantime, don't linger on the past feelings and just roll with it until things get better.

Cheers,
AM

I just had one of the Mandroids dress up like Spuds MacKenzie, and he's gonna be over at your house in about 10 minutes with a 12-pack of Pabst Blue Ribbon and a liter of ouzo. Love you, Gnarzuul...

I love you precisely because you're NOT Britney fucking Spears!
I understand being critical of yourself, you can't see yourself the way others see you...
I see you as a precious soul with a wonderful spark and you totally inspire me.

It's the heart of the artist that counts. You have more heart and soul in what you do than most "Professional" musicians/artists.

Besides, once I finally get my webcam I need someone to jam with.

Don't let being critical be a weakness, make it a strength. If you can see what is wrong with what you are doing, spend your playing time trying to figure out how to fix it. You can only fix one thing at a time, so keep that in mind.

It's good to be critical, it pushes us to do better. Don't be afraid to do badly at something, that's the only way to get better!

Aw, I'm in love with Duke, those old dogs are so sweet, and special. He does look really old.

Hey, thanks for the comment! Duke isn't too old, although he's definitely starting to look it! He's a little over 6...I think Snoopy, being 2, tends to wear him out!

Hope you're feeling better. Don't stop playing, I think you're an awesome guitar player! Did you have a good Valentine's Day? I've spent my night relaxing and watching The Kids Are Alright. Couldn't think of a better way to spend the night! :o)

Nab:

(Wow it's great to simply type that that simple thing, "Nab")

Anyway, I trust all will be well with you. I have a question...
Waht is your guitar? I have not seen all of your videos, so excuse the ignorance on my part. I think i saw a Stratocaster. If so, what kind (USA, Mexico, etc.), what pickups, what year, etc.

It is fun, blogging, is it not?

I ask about the guitar, because I am watching so many things, as in my neighbor, Allen, flicks of Hendrix, flicks of Nab (!) ...and on it goes.

Today my glass is more than half full, so I will share and fill yours up more. I too have been down lately. Tired of taking pain pills and everyone around is sick. But today is better and I am actually planning on returning to my studio soon. Ride the wave with me today Lisa. All the best is at our feet. My best wishes to you Lisa. You have so much to offer the world.

Hi Lisa,
Try not to be so hard on yourself, life is too short. Think of how many funny, whimsical things we have to keep us laughing; our friends, music, Chuck Heston, spaceship, ape city, subway...LOL If I can quote Beneath The Planet of The Apes at 8:15 am you can make music to your own ears, I just know it!
LOVE
AMANDA!~

Nabonidus, you get a quote in my draft for chapter 22 (Reading) on my blog. It was too preachy to put on tbwhm.
I reckon "my blogs more spewy than yours". If that's a compliment.

your "Breathe" is the right chords,
E minor and then poke the c sharp of the d in, rather than going right into the d to get the "run rabbit run" bit.
I just love the tolling of the iron bell !
From memory -
Later on it goes up the fret board - barre about 7th fret and
3rd finger at 4th(fat string) at the 9th fret, (I think I do some alternate low/bass string after that or on top of it..,) and ends up at root F and G7, G which I think you already found.
I'll have a plink and get back to you (in a coupla days) if you're interested.

Sorry about all the deletes - Nightmare !
Hope I've fixed the string number problems (had to make the string numbers consistent).
Perhaps this is a bridge too far, my rough note is:

Em + 2nd str 3rd fret,
A + 2nd str 3rd fret
Barre 7 + 1st str 9th fret
Barre 7 + 4th str 9th fret
Barre 5 + 4th str 7th fret
G, C, F, G,
Em

Breathe.
I wasn't totally wrong on the notes I gave you, I'm thinking you either don't read Tab or you're avoiding it (I got a bad adware/virus infection from a Tab site last week so I certainly am avoiding) but bear in mind this is my "arrangement", I bail out for the the high section a little bit, since the sheet music chords don't suit me as I recall (cannot get to that resource since its buried/stored).
This is really tricky though, trying to remember without a guitar ! and even worse for you trying to use it as a guide !
Assuming this is not a complete waste of time :

run-rabbit-run sung melody starts at the A chord.
String numbers - this is specified with 6 Lowest/fattest and 1 highest/thinnest. This matches usual tab and stave notation where the highest string is near the top of the page, and the lowest at the bottom.
Also its for a standard EADGBE tuning.

E minor = 5th String, 3rd fret, 1st finger, 3rd fret 2nd finger.

strum Em and add 2nd string 3rd fret on&off to pattern.

move to A
A = open, hold 2,3,4 string at 2nd fret with 1st finger (for A you might need finger 2 and 3 if small hands)

strum pattern and add 2nd string 3rd fret with 3rd finger on&off to pattern.
(concentrate on sounding the 3rd finger, as its the sung note, open strings work too ignoring the A!)

"ru-un, rabbit ru-un, dig that hole, forget the su-u-u-un,"

"when/until at last the work is du-un, dont sit down, its time to dig(/start) another one"

Then this is the up-fret bit -

Barre 7th fret (1st finger across all frets)
[ OR easiest for small hands, 7th fret 1,2,3,4 strings avoid/damp 5&6 open ]
and hold 3rd finger at 1st string 9th fret (strum on&off to pattern)
"for while we live and while we fly,

Keep position, Now hold 3rd finger at 4th string 9th fret (strum on&off to pattern)
[ still have the small hands option 7th fret 1,2,3,4 strings avoid/damp 5&6 open ]
" and even as we ride the tide, "

Slip position down to Barre 5th fret
and repeat 3rd finger at 4th string 7th fret (strum on&off to pattern)
[still have small hands option ]
"balanced on the biggest wave"

(this last bit I'm least sure of! )
and then the G,C,F,G for
" we race toward an early grave"

...maybe. These words are probably from Breathe(reprise),
but they're just there to guide for that part of the melody,
its the same for the other verse/chorus though.
