Deserts, MP3 Players, Etc...
Sorry I haven't blogged in a long time, I've been busy! Been spending time in the desert the past couple of weekends, it's been wonderful. Hot, though! Listening to Nick Drake and looking at the sky. Taking walks and picking wildflowers.
Speaking of Nick Drake: A friend gave me an MP3 player yesterday! I'm thrilled. It's so tiny and cute!Just finished loading some Nick Drake into it.
Lately I've been going through a Nick Drake phase. I'm blown away by how good he was, how special.And how young he was to die-26! That's so sad!
I'm loving "The Cello Song" From the album "5 Leaves left". Wow. And River Man. Both are from that album. I love the feel of "5 Leaves Left".
But I'm actually in a pretty good mood lately. The desert makes me happy. :)

I imagine you've already found that Simon put up a download of the finished track for Vibrate on myspace! lol - it seems like yesterday when we first read the lyrics and anxiously waited to hear Simon perform it on ITA Christmas Special... now you can add this Mp3 to your daily play! yippie! My friend that came to visit me last month lived there for many years (like 10 I think).
She was a docent for the park and a rang.er too. She used to clear brush in her bikini!
I'm glad you had some time to reflect - sounds like you are at a peaceful place.

Yep, Sue, it was Anza Borrego - and it was lovely! Hot, but there were still wildflowers all over the place from the late rains. And Nick Drake in the desert is a special experience. :)
