Thankful...

Even if one were to set aside the Pilgrim aspect to Thanksgiving,
and the whole story there, Thanksgiving is still a pretty good idea for a
holiday.
People should have times when they look around and are thankful for
what they have. I do that more often that once a year, and I'm sure other people
do, too.
But there should be a day to really think about it, be aware of it. And have a mass
pig-out. :)

I'm thankful that I have a roof over my head, and am warm and comfortable at night
when it's been getting so much colder at night lately. I'm not starving, and I've made new
friends lately. I also live only 2 blocks from the beach, and I'm very thankful for that.
I'm thankful for all of you, and if you want to tell me what you are thankful for in your lives I wouldn't mind. I'm kinda curious, in fact.
Even if I don't have a family of my own, I could see where that would be #1.
But as I said, there is plenty for me to be thankful for, and I realize it!
Happy Thanksgiving to all that celebrate it!

I give thanks that I have put a major illness behind me. That I make a living doing what I love. That I have a fab son who has made me so proud this year with his music (not only as his Dad, but also as the bands Producer). I also give thanks to all my friends and family that are scattered to and fro around the world.
Thank you, this is a fantastic idea for a post. Happy Holiday

Thanks, Joe! I'm glad I came up with it because I want to learn more about everyone, and this seems like a good way.
For example, I'm glad that you have been able to put illness behind you,
and that you have a son that you are proud of - seems to me a Dad couldn't ask for more, really! You are blessed and you know it- Therefore you are doubly blessed!:)

Lisa,

I'm thankful for having friends old and new and even the four-legged one who is now, still brown, peer pressuring me into a walk through the snow. I'm thankful for my oversized snow boots and for the cobwebs inside each one. I'm thankful for my grandparents resting now where I can visit them and appreciate them there and here and in my heart always. I'm thankful for the Great Lakes, the woods, the sky above with that moon whose piercing beauty often makes the world sometimes appear insigificant. I'm thankful to be writing to you, in the here and now, and for much more.

In no particular order...I'm grateful for having two very good friends locally who I just saw tonight, watching some great Finnish comedy. I'm grateful to have the dear dear friend in London. For the music that affects me so and brings me joy. Grateful to have my little sister (2 years younger) who just came back this morning after a month in China. For my nephews: the elder sent a youghurt to me via my sister so I could eat it for breakfast! He picked the youghurt himself at the grocery store and reminded my sister many times to remember to take with her. My big brother, two years older...List goes on and on, so much to be grateful for!

There really is so much to be thankful for, isn't there? Because even if someone
has just about literally nothing, they still can find something to be thankful about.Health, eyesite, hearing, etc.
Too bad it can't be a world holiday.
I realize that a lot of cultures have some sort of thanksgiving- type of holiday, but it would still be awesome if there was a holiday that the whole world had in common, no matter what the religion.:)

I'm thankful for my children, my husband, the roof over my head. I'm thankful I wasn't born in a country run by a cruel and evil dictator. I'm thankful that I was raised on 60's and 70's Rock N Roll!
I'm thankful that Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey are still here to take Rock n Roll kicking and screaming into old age.
Have a great day Lisa, you are a good soul. I'm glad for you communications....

As regards the music to be grateful for: just received Foy Vance's EP, and my is it recommended! That guy really has blood in his voice - and by this I mean a metaphor for life, the blood running in our veins, not any reference to violence. Listening to Indisciminate Act of Kindness on repeat.

Yes, wish we all had heindsight when going through breakups. I hope you find someone nice very soon. You sound very happy in yourself, and that's the first requirement in finding happiness with someone else. Don't settle for less.

PS: Blogger has word-wrap, so when you type up your entries, no need to put hard-returns on your sentences. When we view them the lines break up.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Aha! Gary, you the man, you've helped me! :)lol
So when I hit the returns, that's what's making the lines break up like that? I've been wondering this for a long time! How to make it stop!LOL
I'll have to try to remember not to do that on my next post. Thanks!

Glad you made it to the chat last night.

Well then lets see? There is my Son who I am so thankful for. My Mom who has always stood beside me. A warm safe home with all the amenities. Good friends, old and new. A good vehicle. All of my music equipment and my computer. Technology in general. My health. My talents which I am greatly thankful for. My Beatle boots. Sounds funny but it took me years to find a place I could buy the original Chelsea (Beatle) boot. Hahaha. I could go on and on. Well, I guess you get the idea.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Peace, love and light to you and yours..

Happy Thanksgiving, and thanks for the post.

Stuee's dad? Now I can show my ignorance... who is he the spawn of? :)

Don't be intimidated by my math skills, they don't help anything in the real world, and besides, I think I may have just failed a number theory quiz today. Blech.

Best to you on the American holiday!

Heh, same as I was! I was clueless about it, too. Stuee's initials are S.T.
Who else do we know of has those same
initials? I'm glad I got to like Stuee as a person first.

I just came to give my thanks, but read the other posts first.
Urmm... am I missing something guys? Feel a bit thick!

(this first bit is all tongue in cheek ok? ;-)

Firstly I am not a frog, or any kind of creature born of spawn.
Secondly, my initials are S.R. They stand for Stuart Ross lol
What IS everyone talking about??

Meanwhile, I think you are all such a lovely and supportive community of, well, strangers! And I think this year, that's what I'm most thankful for. Not so much for myself, but on behalf of the many people whom I know have benefited from this new medium of communication and networking.

As Eric Cartman would say, "I love you guys... Screw you guys!"

HUGE HUGS!!!
Love 'n' light, Stuee xxxxx

I love South Park, heheheh, "screw you guys, I'm goin' home" --->
Cartman is so cute! Evil, horrible, but cute.
Sorry about the confusion, mang!:D

Well, you're so sweet Stuee, thank you!
Actually that drinking photo captured a moment, right after I moved out from my ex. Plus, it kinda reminded me of Hunter S. Thompson. Or Jimmy Page on the Zep Jet drinking Jack Daniels :)
I hate vodka, and that's vodka in the picture. Yuck.I'm not even a drinker,hardly...Maybe I should put the other photo in my profile, or a smiley one, if I can get one. You've got me thinking about it. :)
